Allegro commissions:let's work through examples.

The rate in the category table is not the same as the percentage that actually comes off the price of your product. One sentence in the terms makes the difference, and you only see it in worked examples.

Every figure in this text comes from Annex 4 to the Allegro Terms, the document "Fees and commissions", in the version in force since 16 June 2026. We checked it on 4 September 2026. Allegro's price list is vast and changes category by category, so treat the rates below as examples of the mechanics and check your own category in the source under the text.

What the commission is charged on

The terms say it outright: the amount of the commission depends on the final price of the item and the cost of the delivery the buyer chose. So the commission is not charged on what you earned from the product, but on the whole sum the customer paid. The minimum commission per item is 0.40 zł net, that is 0.49 zł gross. Extra services such as gift wrapping, carrying in or assembly are exempt from commission.

Rates, thresholds and caps

The rate depends on the category and can differ several times over. For example the "Home and garden" category, exclusions aside, is 11% net, that is 13.53% gross. Furniture categories, including office furniture, shop and warehouse shelving and garden furniture, are 9% net, that is 11.07% gross, but with a cap: no more than 250 zł net, which is 307.50 zł gross.

Some categories have no plain percentage but a threshold formula: one rate up to a certain price, and above it a fixed amount plus a percentage of the excess. That matters for pricier goods, because the effective rate falls as the price rises. The cap on furniture works in a similar way: at a final price of about 2,778 zł the commission reaches 307.50 zł gross and stops growing.

Three examples of our own

A lamp at 120 zł with 15 zł delivery in a category at 11.07% gross: the final price is 135 zł and the commission 14.94 zł. Measured against the product alone that is not 11.07% but 12.45%. A small item at 60 zł with 12 zł delivery in a 13.53% category: final price 72 zł, commission 9.74 zł, which is 16.24% of the value of the goods. And the other way round: a dresser at 900 zł with free delivery at 11.07% gives 99.63 zł of commission, exactly the table rate, because delivery added nothing to the base.

What this means for your pricing

The cheaper the product and the dearer the delivery, the further the real commission drifts from the rate in the table. That is an argument for calculating margin on the final price rather than the product price when you sell small items, and for treating free delivery built into the price with care: moving the shipping cost into the price of the goods also moves it into the commission base. With expensive goods it works the other way, because caps and threshold formulas start to protect you.

Allegro's commission is not hidden; it is simply charged on a different amount than most sellers assume. Take three of your typical orders, add delivery to them and apply your category's rate. That single hour will tell you more about your margin than a yearly average.
